About This Item
Methuen, 1943. 1st Edition. Hardcover. VG++/G++. 1st Edition, 1st Impression. Blue cloth with white titles to the front and spine and Mystery Books vignette in white to the front, 165pp with 8 black and white illustrations plus frontispiece by J Abbey. In original unclipped dust jacket priced at 5s net. Light marking to the boards and some patches of fading to the spine corresponding with the loss to the dust jacket. Internally, noting a very few tiny spots to the prelims, it is remarkably clean and without name, inscription or bookplate. The scarce dust jacket is a little dust marked with small tears along the top and bottom edges of the dust jacket and associated creasing. There is a triangular chip measuring 4 x 2cm on the front panel and lesser losses to the joints at the head and foot of the spine and at the corners. It has a damp-marked, cockled patch at the bottom of the rear panel that does not appear to have affected the back cover. All in all a very good copy of this very scarce title in excellent condition. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.
