Top edge stained brown. Fore edge untrimmed. Illustrated by M.A. and W.A.J. Claus. Frontispiece and seven additional plates in black ink and captioned. Intact tissue guard at frontispiece. Two publisher's catalogues at rear. Moderate surface wear to boards with some spotting and soiling. Minor wear at extremities with corners soft and tips lightly rubbed. Gilt lettering dulled. Pictorial pastedown lightly rubbed and scratched, with image sharp and unfaded. Contemporary (1910) gift inscription to front free endpaper with slight offset to front pastedown.
