Six spine compartments between raised bands; red morocco labels in the second and fifth compartments with gilt-tooled title "Letras Cursivas Antiguas y Modernas" and date "Año 1780." Gilt-tooled ornamentation in the other four compartments. Endpapers printed in a red floral pattern. Added engraved title page: Escuela de Leer Letras Cursivas Antiguas y Modernas . . . Text in Spanish/en Espanol. 11 issues with covers bound together in quarter leather with stamped acanthus-pattern maroon cloth; red sprinkled text block edges. Some rubbing wear to leather at joints - leather remains supple, not split or cracked; tightly bound; some uneven sunning to patterned cloth covers. 1st issue is signed by many people apparently as a going away memento; this page and few others have some age-darkening; all others are bright, tight, clean. The signed names include Spanish and North American/English names; 1 name subscribed 'folklorista' appears to be 'Rosale Figueroa'; another name subscribed 'cantante folklorista' appears to be '[unclear] Kolla'. Large 8vo, 767 pp; illustrated.

Flexible white cloth boards resembling vellum show light soiling to spines, else clean and sound, Book plate on front paste-down of each volume; possible ex-library, but no clear markings. Interiors are clean and unmarked, many pages uncut. Volume VI is a slightly different color than the other volumes. Volume VII is dated 1923, rather than 1917. A very good copy of this large illustrated (Julio Prieto ) wrapper first edition. Some pages uncut. Nicely printed. Small crease to bottom edge tip and some soiling to rear cover. Spine is somewhat faded. A scarce book ( novel ) of the Mexican revolution of 1910 that effects a small rural village. Over looked important Latin American work of fiction.

This book and the dj are like new. It is about the life and works of Venezuela artist /sculptor Jesus Rafael Soto. It is a limited first edition of 1,000 copies. Signed and dates with a short inscription on the title page. Text is entirely in Spanish. It contains more than 60 high quality, full page color plates of Soto's works.

San Francisco, CA USA: Solidarity Publications, 1984 A near mint copy of the June 1984 stated first printing of this bilingual Spanish-English collection of poetry by Roque Dalton, a writer and Marxist revolutionary from El Salvador and an important influence in Central American literature. He was assassinated in 1975 just before his 40th birthday. The title page is date stamped December 25, 1985, No other flaws. Paperback 12 mo. 206 pages,

This small volume appears to be the third known copy, with the other two referenced in an eBay listing by antiquarian bookseller Antiquates Ltd. in Dorset, England. According to its own introductory notes, this book was ",..formed upon an New Plan to facilitate the acquisition of the Spanish language" by utilizing phraseology found in writings of "the best Spanish authors, including Don Quixote and Cortez in South America." Besides the copy held by Antiquates Ltd., the other known copy of the first edition is reported held by OCLC (Online Computer Library Center). The book is in fair condition, with pages still attached though foxed. The brown paper repair to the binding is itself worn, but holding the boards in place. There is an owner signature inside the front board, no other markings. A rare find, indeed!
