In a music studio, seated at an Ehrbar piano. With an autograph note signed to verso dated Vienna, September 24, 1936, addressed to the Colombian musicologist Otto de Greiff. With Bittner's return address stamp in purple ink to upper left corner, "Julius Bittner, Wien IX, Dietrichsteingasse 10." Very slightly worn. In very good condition overall. "Although Bittner's output embraces orchestral and chamber music, a large-scale Mass and several lieder and choruses, he devoted most of his creative energies towards writing for the stage. His passion for opera was fuelled by attending a performance of Lohengrin at the age of 12, and, following the precedent set by Wagner, he wrote the librettos for 15 of his own operas. Although his early attempts at the genre were not performed publicly, his friendship with the conductor Bruno Walter proved decisive in establishing his reputation, primarily with the opera Der Musikant produced in Vienna in 1910. [No place: no publisher], 1960. Unbound. Near Fine. A collection of 25 decorative title cards for a range of motion pictures released between 1952 -1960. Each measures approximately 14" x 11". There is some wear to the extremities, a few scattered creases, and a bit of rubbing, but overall near fine with surprisingly bright colors. Each card has been screenprinted on the verso of a large movie poster that was cut into sections to match the dimensions of a typical lobby card. Movie theaters would occasionally commission local sign makers to produce lobby cards for display. The production symbols on many of the cards indicate they were created in the same years as the films they represent. Among the most notable titles in the collection are: *From Here to Eternity*, *Shane*, *Duel in the Sun*, *Stalag 17*, and *Gidget*. An attractive set of mid-century film memorabilia. The Ringling Circus Parade card features at least 1 dozen elephants., is Very Good, bottom corner crease. The other card, View of Newton Kans., Looking South on Main St., Pub. by H.S. Dickey's Post Office News Store, also Very Good, a few small rubs at bottom edge. . Postcard. Very Good. 3 1/2 x 5 1/2".

Cincinnati, Ohio: Norwood Souvenir Co., 1909. Real photo postcard of bathing scene in Galveston, Texas, just 9 years after the great Hurricane of 1900 had devastated Galveston. Near Fine, mailed from Ray Ritter in Galveston to Robert Popkins of Halstead, Kansas, the stamp removed, tiny rubs at corners. . Postcard. Near Fine. 3 1/2 x 5 1/2".

Rare Maynard Workshop Postcard of the New Old South Tower Copley Square Boston Massachusetts "THE CITY" POST CARDS is on a title block in the middle of blank back. There is a divided rule in the middle - one side for your message, another for the recipient's address. On the bottom is the tagline "FROM PHOTOGRAMS COPYRIGHTED BY THE MAYNARD WORKSHOP - WABAN - MASSACHUSETTS" The bottom left of the image has a very light c circled (the copyright symbol), beneath that is what appears to be "F and K" with a wavy line underneath with a small mark or dot under that. The card is unused, unstamped, undated. If you are a collector of Maynard Workshop cards, you know that they are hard to date. This card is circa 1920's or early 1930's. An extraordinary item of Italian (and world) football memorabilia, being a Team Photograph Postcard of the 1950's Gre-Ni-Lo, Scudetto-winning AC Milan, which has been signed by every member of the team. The signatures were obtained by team member Gunnar Nordahl at a reunion dinner in the 1970's. The card measures approximately 15cm x 11cm and has been signed by Buffon, Silvestre, Foglia, Annovazzi, Tognon, Bonomi, Gren, Liedholm, Burini, Nordahl and Renosto. Bonomi's signature is smudged a little but the rest (ink & biro) are clear. The card itself is in Fine condition. Provenance: from the Estate of Gunnar Nordahl

Book of 24 photographic postcards showing the devastation to the French town of Soissons after bombardment by German forces in WWI. Scenes include the ruins of cathedrals, churches, private homes. bridges, hospitals, et al, as well as a graveyard with a row of graves of Americans killed at the front. Oblong orange stapled paperwraps printed on front cover only; editor's single-page introduction; 24 postcards with captions in French and English on fronts and divided backs. Book measures approximately 5.75 x 3.5" and postcards are around 5.5 x 3.5". Covers chipped at corners; split to front cover (at staples) repaired with archival tape. Old damp stain affecting front cover, introduction and first postcard otherwise contents are altogether very good. Individual postcards appear on the market but a complete books of postcards such as this one are quite scarce.

Dale Evans, who was born with the name Francis Smith, was born in 1912 and began her career as a nightclub singer, then later singing on radio. She then moved to Hollywood and worked for Republic Pictures, where she made movies with Roy Rogers and became known as "The Queen of the West".
This black & white photo is on the front of a postcard, and depicts a very young Dale Evans in a bikini.
Dale's signature was imprinted on the photo, but she also signed the photo in brown ink. The photo is matted and framed.
This is a rare collectable item, depicting a young Hollywood star before she became a Hollywood legend.

No dust jacket was issued. Signed by the author on the Foreward page. Clean and unmarked, with a square, tight binding. llustrated throughout with original postcards, both color and black-and-white, mounted on individual pages with corners inserted into slits, as in a photograph album. Frontispiece photo is an original studio portrait of the author, mounted with glue, protected by tissue guard. Photo and postcards have left faint corresponding toned areas on pages opposite. Includes a Family Record starting in 1743 in North Wales, and Supplementary Notes. This is a deaccessioned museum copy. A rare book, lovely and unusual!
