Very good condition throughout with some very minor rubbing and toning to the edges but still all clean and sound. The set has been very well looked after. Started by Vale with $100 from Lawrence Ferlinghetti and the same amount from Allen Ginsberg, Search & Destroy was a hugely influential recorder of the early Punk scene in America, while also reporting on and interviewing the bands making a name for themselves on the British scene, including Iggy Pop, Blondie, Dead Kennedys, X, Devo, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Damned, Sham 69, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Buzzcocks and an article on Vivienne Westwood. Complete sets of the original publications are uncommon.

This is a very scarce program for the 1st American performance of the opera "MADAM BUTTERFLY" by Giacomo Puccini. The title page of the program states: "First Performance in America and First Presentation in English on October 15th, 1906, at the Columbia Theatre, Washington, D.C." Published by Boosey & Co., New York.Puccini wrote five versions of the opera. The original two-act version,which was presented at the world premiere at La Scala on 17 February 1904, was withdrawn after the disastrous premiere. Puccini then substantially rewrote it, this time in three acts. This second version[was performed on 28 May 1904 in Brescia, where it was a great success. John Dryden, a 17th-century English author, was known for his famous translations of Greek classics as well as his masterpiece 'Tyrannick Love'. This play, first published in 1670, tells the story of Saint Catherine of Alexandria's martyrdom and the reign of Emperor Maximinus. Alexandria refused Maximinus's erotic advances and was ultimately put to death for it. Dryden tells this story in this play.
