Bisbee, Arizona:: Pequeno Press,, 1998.. Edition of 50. 2.5 X 2.875", 131 page miniature. Printed in Eurostile and Zapf types on Neenah Classic Crest paper by Pat Baldwin. The illustrations were "painted" on the computer from a collection of antique playing cards. Poker chip on front cover, facsimile of $1000 bill on back cover. The felt covered boards with silk screened symbols, handmade paper end papers and binding were done at Waterleaf Mill & Bindery by Patrice Baldwin and staff. Signed and numbered. These pithy observations of a professional dealer range from comments by the players on life, poker and other players to commentary on the philosophy of poker.

Attached to the palm of the left hand a 2 x 1.75", 9-page miniature book, an accordion structure in apple-shaped pages on which is the digitally printed W. B. Yeats' text, an excerpt from "The Song of the Wandering Aengus." Sculpture housed in linen clamshell box. Miriam Schaer: "Golden Apples ponders the quest for love. It was created originally for the installation Chapel of Uncommon Prayer. Created entirely of books and book objects using hand shapes and gloves, created using traditional book binding techniques in a non-traditional way, the exhibition explores the personal relationship to prayer and devotion, in a world with increasingly difficult, often unanswerable questions."

London: Anthony Treherne, 1905. First Edition (thus). Flexible boards. Very good. Miniature (5cm x 7cm). A very good copy in the publisher's limp brown leather, stamped in blind. Rubbing to extremities and the binding a touch shaken, but a clean copy of this miniature book. All edges gilt,though the gilt is somewhat dulled. Appears to be genuinely rare; we note just three library holdings, all in the USA (Harvard, UVA, and Worcester PL [MA]).

A fine copy of this expertly printed little volume in a highly attractive leather binding of beautiful full plum morocco by Lanscelin. Spine with five raised bands, each with gilt piping. Compartments ruled, lettered and fully decorated in gilt. Boards with triple gilt ruled borders. Stamped monogram to the front board. Board edges double ruled in gilt. Turn-ins with elaborate gilt roll. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Orange, gold and green silk book marker sewn in. A fine copy, housed in a marbled paper covered slip-case. A marvellous piece of book production, both the text and the binding.

Bound in full black crushed morocco, with gilt rules and lettering, marbled end papers, all edges gilt, ribbon marker. Frontispiece portrait of Emerson, 82 pp. Near Fine, slight rubbing to gilt. "An exhibit of Updike's books in England in 1941 sponsored by the Monotype Corporation Ltd. featured 'Friendship'. The exhibit catalogue referred to this book as 'One of the smallest, almost certainly the most legible and attractive, miniature books ever printed from actual type (not photographically reduced)." The second book published by Achille J. St. Onge. (Bradbury 2, pages 249-252). The last copy seen at auction was in 2007 according to RBH. . Limited Edition. Morocco. Near Fine/No Jacket, As Issued. 2 7/8" x 1 5/8". Miniature.

FIRST EDITION WITH "The Night Before Christmas" SIGNED BY HILARY KNIGHT! Includes a photo from the signing event. Condition is VG+: pristine text & illustrations, the boards look like new. But some age-related foxing on endpapers, mild wear on dust jackets. Slipcase has original $2.95 price clearly visible and remarkably only mild wear, but prior owner wrote their name in black marker (see photo).
