Selections from al Jawa'ib newspaper which was issued in Istanbul during the Sultan Abdul Aziz era by Ahmad Faris al Shidyaq. The Muntakhabat was published between 1875 and 1882 by Shidyaq's nephew; Salim Faris.

İn original decorative dark green binding with the Toghra (arm) of the Sultan Abdul Hamid II and the Ottoman cresent. Dedicated and signed by a possible member of the commity in 21-11-1321 (21-11-1905). With 14 plates in the end contain 34 original photographs of the accused people, equipments and explosive materials used in the assassination attempt. Ex-libris Ertugrul Zekai Okte. Armenians who were not able to get the desired results from their protests in Istanbul in 1895 and 1896 attempted to draw the attention of big powers by assassinating Abdulhamid II and carrying out big protests, and in this way, reach their goals by weakening the Ottoman Empire. Within this framework, it was decided to start intensive activities in Istanbul and İzmir in the Dashnaksutyun congress carried out in Sofia in January of 1904. THE JEWISH RESPONSE (of the JEWISH AGENCY FOR PALESTINE) to the British Government's publication of the " McMahon Letters " published earlier the same month (March 16th, 1939). The McMahon Letters include the correspondence between Sir Henry McMahon (His Majesty's High Commissioner in Egypt) and Hussein Sharif of Mecca between 1915 and 1916 and represent a series of letters that were exchanged during World War I in which the British government agreed to recognize Arab independence after the war in exchange for Hussein's launching the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire. These alleged promises to the Arab side given before the later BALFOUR DECLARATION OF 1917 were therefore considered by the supporters of the JEWISH CAUSE as being without legal validity. 1877 Freemasonry in Holy Land Voyages Masonic Poetry Eastern Star Robert Morris
Robert Morris was an important American Freemason poet who is chiefly remembered for creating the Order of the Eastern Star. He composed over 400 poems most of which dealt with the Eastern Star and Freemasonry. He voyaged to the Holy Land and wrote hymns and poems based on his experiences there. He also published a book describing his sights and discoveries in Syria, Palestine, and Egypt entitled 'Freemasonry in the Holy Land' which featured many of his poems and odes.
