Description:
London, 1639 Printed by Miles Fletcher and Robert Young, assignes of John More esquire.Text in Norman French. This textbook for law students first appeared in 1528 and went through a succession of editions in the 16th and 17th centuries. This copy comprises the title page, a page of chapter headings, Proemium ( 5 pages), The Table ( 39 pages) , and 334 pages of text. Internally generally very good subject to a small wormhole through lower inner margins affecting one or two letters, and some loss to the edges ( presumably from insects) of the first and last two blank leaves, and also the title page ( but not affecting the text). There is the ownership signature of a John Bond on the title page ( neat and inoffensive) and a number of notes in the margins of the text ( in French in a very neat hand). The binding is firm. The cover ( contempory sheep ) is somewhat worn with a 1cm crack between the top of the spine and the front cover, and there are two small wormholes in the spine.

Description:
Near fine copy. No markings. The theft, trafficking and falsification of cultural property/heritage are crimes of a particularly complex nature, that often have international ramifications and signifi-ant economic consequences. Organised criminal groups of various types and origins are involved in these illegal acts. The book Crime in the Art and Antiquities World contains both contributions from researchers specialising in the illegal trafficking of art as well as contributions from representatives of international institutions involved with prevention and detection of cultural property related crimes, such as Interpol and UNESCO. In the back of the book is an Annex that includes the existing legal texts, i.e. international treaties, conventions, resolutions, etc. which do not yet exist in a single volume. This makes it a unique and useful reference for scholars and private and public bodies alike.
