1812. Nürnberg, Johann Leonhard Schrag, 1812-1813-1816. 3 vols. 8vo. 3 contemporary uniform (!) marbled paper bindings with hand-written paper title-labels to spines (hand-writing not legible). Very minor, excellently executed and barely noticeable professional restorations to a couple of hinges and corners. An excellent set, also internally very nice, clean, and fresh, wih only very minor occasional brownspotting. Old owner's inscription in the form of a poem and an old, vague owner's stamp (Giulini) to front free end-paper of volume one. Same stamp to title-page and verso of title-page respectively of volumes 2 and 3. Berlin: Verlag von Adolph Engel. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. Professor C. Ossterdinger. Folio. 32 pages. The binding measures 14 1/8 inches tall by 10 5/8 inches wide. Hardcover bound in quarter red cloth with boards and a pictorial pastedown of a long-haired youth in a white dress covering nearly the entire front cover. The binding is quite worn and is soiled from handling. The red cloth spine is fraying and tender with splitting and with chipping at the spine ends. Corners of the binding are rounded and chipped. Front flyleaf nearly detached. The text is toned and has some smudges and soiling from handling. Complete with the 6 full-page color plates. Text is in German in the old script. No date; circa 1880s-1890s.

Some wear on spine ( please see photo) binding and fly-leaves with foxing, text pages fresh and clean, inner side of front cover with remnants of old old glue of ex libris (hardly visible). Otherwise a GOOD copy.- Rücken am Kopf u. unten teils berieben (siehe Foto). Einband und Vorsatz mit kl. Stockfl., innere Seite des Vorderdeckels mit kaum sichtbaren Resten des KLebestoffes eines anscheinend entfernten Ex Libris. Gutes Exemplar.
