Description:
1816 English 1ed Campaign in Russia Napoleonic War French Invasion Labaume MAPS

The French invasion of Russia of 1812 was a turning point in the Napoleonic Wars. The campaign reduced the French and allied invasion forces to a tiny fraction of their initial strength. Eugene Labaume was a geographical engineer and historian who wrote 'A circumstantial narrative of the campaign in Russia' as a narrative of the Napoleonic campaigns in Russia in 1812. Labaume discusses the Campaign of Paris in 1814, the battle of Paris, which was fought during the Napoleonic Wars, and the French defeat, which led directly to the abdication of Napoleon I.

This 1816 first English edition includes a frontispiece portrait of Napoleon with the two folding battle plans.

Jean Victor Moreau was an 18th-century French military officer known for his role in helping Napoleon gain political and military prominence. Moreau commanded French forces during the French Revolutionary wars, particularly the Army of Italy. However, Moreau would begin to disagree with Napoleon so much so that he would be banished from France and settle in America.

Description:
1820 Napoleonic Wars 1ed Saxony Campaign 1813 Battle Leipzig Napoleon ODELEBEN
Baron Otto Freiherr von Odeleben's "A Circumstantial Narrative of the Campaign in Saxony, in the Year 1813" is a comprehensive account of the historical military campaign in 1813 Saxony during the Napoleonic Wars. The book was initially penned in German and later translated by Alfred John Kempe. The narrative sheds light on various events, including the political turmoil involving Frederick Augustus (king of Saxony), invasion of Russian territories in 1812, the Battle of Lützen, the Battle of Leipzig, and Napoleon's final retreat upon Erfurt. Odeleben's account explains how despite Napoleon's initial power and opportunities for victory, the contingencies of troop numbers, material resources, alliances, and strategic decisions led to his defeat in 1813.

Description:
1816 Napoleonic WARS 1ed French Revolution Napoleon Bonaparte 1st SUBMARINE
William Nicholson's "History of the Wars" is an early 19th-century survey of the French Revolution and the events leading up to the revolution, as well as reports on the Napoleonic Wars following the French Revolution. Nicholson offers description of the War of the First Coalition with notes on important political and military figures. Though, perhaps the most noteworthy portion of the work is an extensive exposition on Napoleon's escape from Elba and his ultimate defeat at Waterloo. In fact, this book was penned just months after the Battle of Waterloo – one of the earliest, illustrated books on the end Napoleon's reign.
While the contents of this work are important, this particular work is best-recognized for being the first published work to describe the submarine. According to Sargent, this book describes a "diving boat which at Norfolk, tried to destroy the Ramillies". (Sargent, p.25)
