Beautiful opening spread borders and two illustrations by Sir Edward Burne-Jones along with ornamental initials and borders throughout. Limited to 300 copies. (Sparling 52 ,p.171, Peterson A52, Tomlinson 52). Troy type, with stage directions in Chaucer type. Fine in limp full vellum with some original ties, four missing. Morris profoundly influenced the typographical revival of the late 19th century by showing that printing was an art and its details worth infinite trouble. These ten poems printed for the first time form part of "Cave Birds," a sequence of twenty poems written by Hughes between 1974-75 to Baskin's drawings. The poems are published together with prints from the related drawings and each poem is accompanied by a facsimile of a draft selected from the poet's working papers. The elephant folio sized prints are signed by Baskin, numbered, and dated. The book is quarter white paper, with hand-made chocolate paper sides and light brown label stamped in black. Unpaginated. Portfolio is 20 x 14 1/2 inches. The Baskin prints are printed on Barcham Green paper. The text of the poems is printed on handmade paper by F. Amatruda, Amalfi. The matching burlap covered fitted portfolio with ties contains both the prints and the book. Number 93 of an edition limited to one hundred copies, each copy of the book signed by the poet, Ted Hughes, and the illustrator, Leonard Baskin. Fine condition.

All of the engravings and poems illlustrate scenes Kingsley saw and sketched in London and Bristol after the air raids. Cook has exhibited his work at many distinguished British associations, including the Society of Wood Engravers, the Royal Academy London, the Royal Scottish Academy, and the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers. Cook printed the book on a Hopkinson and Cope 1842 Albion press. Fine, with a slight ding on the spine. This is the first production of his Centaur Press. Number 58 of 96 copies, signed by the artist, author, and printer. Prospectus enclosed.

One of only 4 copies, on Japon, with extra suites of the 1st state proofs and the 2nd state proofs and the original copper plate used for the etching on page 7. Numbered from II to V. This is copy number IV. From a total edition of 147. With 16 drypoint engravings printed in blue by Louis Icart of which 5 full page and 11 in-text. The etchings were printed by French masterprinter Manuel Robbe. The 32 full page 1st and 2nd state proofs are printed in black. All prints protected by tissue guards. Loose folded sheets in wrappers with silver title. In publishers marbled chemise and slipcase. 23 text pages. Sheets measure 29 x 21,5 cm. Extremely rare copy with the extra suites and the original copper plate. Spine of chemise a bit sun faded, lightest wear to corner tips of slipcase. A very fine copy in collectors condition. .

Designed by Ben Shiff. The plates for the images were made by Carl Schutte & C. Behling in Berlin. These relief plates were printed letterpress by David Wolfe at The Anthoensen Press, the covers made at Jovonis Bookbindery with natural eelskin spines and Italian bookcloth on the boards. This is copy number 78 of only 100 copies for sale (there were another 10 copies for presentation) initialled by the printer, Ridley Burnett. A fine bright copy which is a beautifully produced facsimile of the famous Kelmscott Press edition of 1893. Finely hound bound in full white limp vellum, lettered in gilt. Green silk ties which were specially woven for this edition by H. Caldicott of London. With a short booklet about the 1893 edition, again limited, numbered and this initialled by Harold Smith and Ridley Burnett. Grey paper wraps with silk tie to the hinge. The two volumes are Housed in the publishers original grey paper covered slip case. A beautiful facsimile of a beautiful edition of Shakespeare's Poems in fine condition.
