Brown cloth spine with grey paper-covered boards and grey paper spine label. Printed on antique paper. The corners and the top and bottom of the spine are a bit worn, the spine label is chipped but with no loss of text. Edited by John Hayward. (Poetry).

Russel Flint with 20 color mounted plates, bound in 1/4 beige cloth over pale blue paper covered boards, paper labels and with spare paper labels to each volume at rear, top edges gilt, one bumped corner to each volume, in dust jackets with toning to spine and edges and minor tiny chips to spine ends or corners. The Gehenna Press: Northampton, MA 1963. Limited edition to 300 numbered copies, this is #22. Not to be confused with the subsequent unnumbered trade edition. Colophon illustrated by Press Founder Leonard Baskin. A presentation copy from Baskin, signed and inscribed "for Louis". Though not certain, it seems likely that the recipient is Baskin's close friend Louis Smith. Smith (known as Smitty) ran a framing, glazing and art supply store in Northampton, and between 1955 and 1974, Baskin engraved a series of rooster illustrations for Smith's shop. In 1999, this series was printed under the title "Smitty's Cocks" in a limited signed edition, noting "The friendship between the Smiths and Baskin was legendary and fruitful. With each of their many Ray Bradbury titles, Gauntlet Press had extra tipsheets signed by Bradbury, and those that were unused were stored. Gauntlet are now using these 'classic' tipsheets on other Bradbury books. This copy of 'Phoenix 451' has a tipsheet for 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' that has been signed by Ray Bradbury, Joe Lansdale and Peter Crowther. Originally limited to only 150 numbered copies, Gauntlet Press increased this number to 170 when a few more signed tipsheets were found. Here we have #167. In 'Phoenix 451' you will find three variations of Bradbury's script adapting his novel, 'Fahrenheit 451'. One is a musical, another for the stage, and one a screenplay. With 35 original lithographs by Aristide Maillol, of which 7 full page, all protected by tissue guards. Loose sheets, printed on hand made special pur chanvre paper in a limited edition of 275 copies. This is copy number 175. The lithographs have been printed under the direction of Fernand Mourlot and were monogrammed in the stone by Maillol. All stones have been erased after printing. One plate with small closed tear in the margin. Vellum wrappers yellowed. Chemise with bump to upper right corner. Slipcase with light wear and 2 repaired splits, very good interior condition. This is an excellent and well illustrated history of Napoleon. Bound in full leather, it is a fine example of the very collectable books of Easton Press.
