At a banquet honoring British member of Parliament Bright (1811-89), both Bright and his 1846 comrade-in-arms in repealing the corn laws, Cobden (1804-65), offer speeches supporting the Union cause. Text tight, clean & intact. Very lightly rubbed spine ends & front corners. Endpaper has a few fleck of foxing. South, Jeff Davis Arkansas Senator ; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 80 pages .

Near Fine. First Edition.  Signed by Author. Full Maroon Leather with gold gilt letters. Cream silk lined, front and back covers.  Simpson signed on page with this book's number, 22 of limited edition of 50. Published in cooperation with the Harrison County Historical Society, Marshall, Texas. 26 pp.  No dust jacket issued.

First edition, first printing, 1865, softcover pamphlet in good condition. 30 pages plus blank plus wraps. In original paper wraps. No writing inside or out. Edges are chipped, ink stain upper outer edge not affecting text, pages are toned, corners bumped. Author put together this pamphlet to encourage the public to encourage the Union Navy to consider his designs for a warship. Scarce. None listed for sale; none found at auction. WorldCat locates ~18 copies of this first edition. Although this copy has some condition issues it is still pretty nice. Please see scans of the item you will receive. Feel free to inquire.

First edition with all the requisite first printing points; an absolutely stunning copy of this book which is notoriously hard to find in collectible condition....this being a near fine copy with a tight binding and clean white pages that shows some mild shelf wear to the spine ends and a small PO stamp on the front free end paper (interestingly his name is Per Odd Keul, an extensive world traveler and a cancer survivor); housed in a fine dust jacket that is basically flawless save for some very mild shelfwear on the top spine end....a beautiful copy of this Pulitzer Prize winning novel and THE most important work of civil war fiction....protected in a mylar cover.

These testimonies of Wade and Gooch focused on the conduct of the war taken primarily from Mound City Illinois Hospital with the witnesses being survivors of the Fort Pillow massacre. The testimonies also briefly address the operations of General Forrest against Union City Tennessee.
