Bound in modern quarter calf with marbled boards and endpapers after 19th century style. Pages are generally clean with occasional mild scattered marginal foxing; a few minor tears are professionally sealed; a tiny hole in pp. 723/24 effects a couple letters of text; a name is lightly written in an early hand on corner of front fly-leaf of each volume. Dibdin discusses the best books with which to fill an English gentleman’s antiquarian library. Primarily covers works in the humanities - history, voyages and travels, belles letters, poetry, English drama etc. Copious notes are included on many titles in regards to content, scarcity, best editions etc.
