Description:
First Edition; Limited Edition: Number 69 of 660 copies, numbered and signed by Luigi Serafini. The book condition, including all die-cuts and plates is as new. For defects and box & dust jacket details see the end of this listing. The price reflects a deep discount on this rare item and a rare opportunity to own a book of this quality from renowned Italian artist Luigi Serafini. The artist's tribute to Jules Renard's 1959 Histoires Naturelles is a whimsical book which reflect a botanical construction of die-cut and coloured leaves forming a forest of enchanted trees and fantastical plants. The tome constitutes Serafini's herbarium of imaginary plants. The book was published to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of Jules Renard's life. In traditional Serafini style, the story, and the flow of die cuts and plates, and text, letter pressed on the highest quality heavy paper, follows no rational order, despite being grouped into sections, so interpretation is left to the imagination of the reader.… Read More

Description:
"Pulcinoelefante" is an Italian publishing house founded by Alberto Casiraghi (or Casiraghy).
The books are hand printed using movable types on the high-quality Hahnemühle paper produced in Germany. Annually "Pulcinoelefante" publishes hundreds of small plaquettes formed by a text (aphorism or short poem), accompanied by small engravings or original drawings made by artists. Each edition is published in a very small number of copies hors de commerce.
Read More

This item is an overweight, additional shipping applies.Fitted with an archive quality dust jacket protectorMinor wear to dust jacket. Minor scuffing, has a small mark (glue) on rear of cloth cover. A very fine copy. Fitted with a custom dust jacket protector. The dazzling ceramics of Clarice Cliff and of the Wilkinson Pottery that first encouraged her work in the 1920s are among the best of many fine achievements of the renowned Staffordshire Potteries in the English Midlands. Today they have become one of the great collectables from the twentieth century. The exuberant colours and bold shapes of her classic Art Deco pieces have caught the imagination of collectors and auction houses the world over as prices move inexorably upwards. After years of research both in the Wilkinson archives and through oral testimonies of surviving employees, Greg Slater has produced the ultimate survey of Clarice Cliff's work and those of her largely uncredited colleagues from the 1920s to the 1950s. This massive… Read More
