His most famous works were short series of sketches that told moral stories through the lens of political satire – 'A Harlot's Progress,' 'A Rake's Progress,' and 'Marriage.'

This 1833 printing of the works of Hogarth include his most famous works including illustrations to 'Hudibras,' and 'Industry and Idleness.'

This rare and beautiful two volume set comes complete with 12 large plates illustrating the Bushman / San rock art in the Brandberg area of South Africa. I purchased these volumes in London while studying rock art in the area in the 90's. I am a private individual (not a book reselling company) with special attachment to this work. I have kept good care of these volumes which show only minor scuffing on the covers..... otherwise the work is in excellent condition. The work is written in English.

Text in EnglishLimited first edition, number 1265 of 2000 copies, with four original black and white lithographs and one fifteen-color double page lithograph entitled " The Road". This volume also includes 37 beautiful color plates. The original lithographs were pulled in Paris by the Mourlot Freres atelier. Mourlot's printing of "The Road" was supervised by the artist in collaboration with Charles Sorlier.This copy is in very fine condition with the exception of two loose pages before the title page and some slight wear on the slip case.

The subject is a beautiful woman wearing a hat, and fashionable fur collar from the time. Her facial features and best points are highlighted by the artist, showing real skill with chalk. Signed by Ingel in the portrait. Circa mid to late 1920s. Sold under glass, in bronze effect frame, under passe-partout. If shipped, postage will be quoted at cost (either in frame or outside).
