Though ex-library this copy was clearly little circulated and has very minor markings: some stamps at the top page edges and 2 small stamps on the inside rear board. There is some color bleed at the base of the spine end on the rear board as well. Otherwise in VG/VG+ condition. First published in Madrid as "Diccionario geográfico-histórico de las Indias Occidentales ó América: es á saber: de los reynos del Perú, Nueva España, Tierra Firme, Chile, y Nuevo reyno de Granada" in five volumes, 1786 - 1789. Sabin 368. Some wear at the tips and along edges, rubbing to the leather glazing, light occasional foxing, else very good plus, attractive set, pages bright, sturdily bound.. 1st. Half-Leather. Very Good. 4to.

This book is an antique and is in fair condition. The binding is loose and cracked on the inside of the front board. Dark green cloth covered boards that have significant wear on the edges, spine and corners. The previous owners signature is written on the inside of the front board. The pages are tanned and yellowed, but are still readable.Also a Life Sketch of Theodore Roosevelt and "memorial tributes by statesmen, ministers, orators and rulers of all countries"; profusely illustrated with photos, drawings and "special pictures of the Family by Express Permission from the Owners"

1780 softcover pamphlet in very good condition. Paginates: (iii)-viii, [2], (9)-101, blank, lacking the half-title (if it ever existed). Second edition. Pencil notes of prior book seller on title page, no other markings, creases or interior problems. Bound in quality laid paper wraps. A very nice copy. The paper is wonderful example of the paper making trade in 1780's London. Content is scathing satire and complaints about, among other things, the loss of the colonies. A nice copy. More Notes: This is how most books came from the printer and it was up to the buyer to decide on further binding. This appears to have never been bound.

Complete in original binding except for the gigantic map which is available in full size color thick glossy paper professional reproduction ($25 extra if desired). Pagination: 583 pages, 22 plates, 4 maps, all blanks present. Includes fascinating pencil diagram of oil rig on back of map. Oil rig drawing titled "Sheffield Oil Company. Warren(?), Co., Pa." That pencil drawing is the only interior writing or ownership marking anywhere in the book. Condition is a mixed bag. Original half leather marbled boards show heavy wear and looks like they were professionally rehinged in the distant past. Binding is sound. Pages show moderate to heavy toning and foxing. Some plates have weird 'dot' foxing I have never seen elsewhere (see scan). Marbled endpapers. A nice well maintained copy suitable for reading and research with a cool drawing. The Booklet and all 24 prints are in very good condition but the sleeve is very worn and has tears and scuffs along all edges. Booklet is in great condition. Comes with 24 color 9 x 12 prints of paintings by Winold Reiss. No markings on the inside of the book or on the color prints. Winold Reiss (1886 - 1953) was a German-born American artist.
